Belux Coffee Roasters has been working on Taiwan coffees for a while. 4 years ago, Lucy, our co-founder, drove 2 hours from Taichung to visit SongYue Manor and started the journey of Taiwan Geisha. In the same year, Taiwan Coffee first time joined PCA (private coffee collection) auction held by COE (Cup of Excellence). Belux Coffee Roasters not only joined the auction but also held several events to promote Taiwanese coffee. Geisha Coffees from the beautiful island Taiwan has gained more and more attention recent years due to its floral and delicate tasting profile. We are glad to welcome back the latest harvest of Geisha coffee from Songyue Coffee Manor this month - notes of Longan Berry, Kumquat and Hibiscus that brings a fragrant and clean cup for pour over coffee lovers. This is a limited release for this holiday season!
About Songyue Coffee Manor -
Songyue Coffee Manor started planting coffee trees 30 years ago and gains its reputation since 2005 when its coffee beans won Taiwan National Roasters Competition Championship. After then, Songyue won numerous awards due to its geographic advantage, rich soil and dedication of refining process and professional field management from the owner Kuo Chang-sheng. Their most recent awards are 2020 Taiwan Yunlin National Coffee Competition First Prize, 2020 Taiwan Specialty Coffee Evaluation Gold Award, etc. They also have multilple coffees entered 2021 and 2022 Taiwan PCA final 10 lots.
Songyue Coffee Manor started its first Geisha harvest in 2017. The Geisha seeds were from the famous Panama Esmeralda Coffee Estate. Songyue Coffee Manor offers the perfect micro-climate for growing Geisha. It received a cupping scores of 89.25 points from International Coffee Quality Association (CQI) this year which is one of the highest scores in the world from this organization. It has a fragrance of Tea Rose, first sip is Longan and Litchi, when cools down you will find citrus and blackberry notes.
About the Alishan Coffee -
Alishan ("shan" is the meaning of "mountain" in Chinese) produce one of the best high mountain teas in the world. Coffee from Alishan also has exquisite taste. The high mountain area has a large temperature difference of +50 °F from day to night which delays the coffee cherry mature time for at least 2 months. The place where this coffee is grown is beyond the sea of clouds with full sun lights during day time almost all year round. In the afternoon, fogs appear and provide moisture in the air. Under this special micro-climate, coffee has a high density, more complete flavor development and mellow taste.
