Part-time/Full-time Barista

(20-40hr/week; must have flexible weekend schedule)

Belux Coffee is a specialty coffee shop that focuses on high-quality coffee selection and preparation. We are seeking an engaging and courteous barista who is passionate about specialty coffee and willing to serve one of the best coffees in town. The barista will greet customers cheerfully, courteously, and professionally, answer their questions, take orders, accept payments, and fulfill orders. Meanwhile, you will maintain a clean and organized workspace and seating area. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, knowledge of espresso machines and other coffee equipment operations, and a passion for coffee, tea, and pastries. This position involves shift work for early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming, engaging, and friendly environment to all customers, and provide menu assistance to customers

• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages such as specialty coffee drinks and teas, and other food products (e.g., sandwiches, baked goods, and desserts, etc.), either on-premise consumption or take-out

• Help track food and supply inventory (e.g, in display cases, behind counter, etc.) and assist with restocking as necessary

• Help maintain and keep all serving, food & beverage preparation, and common areas sanitary and clean

• Follow all health and safety guidelines and procedures. Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.

 

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year as a specialty coffee barista and familiarity with coffee brewing (especially commercial espresso machine), tea, and food preparation.

• Positive, customer-friendly attitude with strong interpersonal communication skills

• Obsessed with product quality and delivering outstanding customer service

• Self-motivated and trustworthy, able to work with minimal supervision

• Strong teamwork abilities to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment

• Ability to meet regular, consistent, and punctual attendance schedules and flexibility to work different schedules (holiday and weekend) as needed

• Adaptable to change and willing to embrace new ideas and processes, and able to follow directions

• High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or higher education

 

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.

 

Salary: Hourly pay starts from $14/hr plus tips.
