Join us at Belux Coffee Roasters for an exclusive World of Coffee - Auction Lot Coffee Tasting Event, featuring 3 different World auction lot coffee from Best of Yemen, Pride of Geisha, and Gems of Araku!
Inspired by Lucy and Jenny's curiosity, we've sourced Yemen coffee auction samples from Best of Yemen. Renowned for its unique geography and microclimate, Yemen coffee is considered "wild," offering an unparalleled flavor profile. Many Yemeni coffee farms use the "raisin" process, which involves drying ripe coffee cherries directly on the tree. We tried this method ourselves this year and found the green coffee easier to peel from the outer shell.
Ethiopia, known as the “birthplace of Coffee,” is celebrated for its exceptional Geisha beans, considered by many researchers to originate from this rich, coffee-brewing land. In 2007, Rachel's visit to Ethiopia ignited her passion for coffee; with Willem Boot’s guidance, they chose the West Omo Zone for their coffee adventures. Each year, the esteemed Geisha Village hosts its prestigious “Proud of Geisha” auction. We have many customers who want to taste Ethiopian Geisha, so we bought auction samples for the event.
We went to SCA EXPO in Houston, where we joined in the cupping of Gems of Araku – the premium Indian coffee auction lot. We were surprised by the quality and flavor of thei Judge, Sherri Johns, we got a sample of the Natural process 3rd place lot to share.
Gems of Araku, an annual coffee harvest festival curated by Naandi, celebrates the unique land and terroir of Araku, as well as the farmers who nurture it with care and skill. It is a tribute to the deep connection between nature and the people who grow this exceptional coffee. Over 1,400 micro-lots of single-origin specialty coffee are evaluated annually by globally recognized Coffee Cuppers who adhere to guidelines set by the Cup of Excellence and the Specialty Coffee Association.
